Get Involved
There are several ways to support or participate in Harikoa, depending on where you are located, and how ready you are to engage.

Two Pathways for Families
A. Register Interest
This is for families anywhere in New Zealand who want to stay informed, and even take up a local leadership role to set this up on a local basis.
Complete a short (5-min) Expression of Interest form to register your interest and share the basics. We will keep you updated on Harikoa progress, launch timelines, and opportunities across New Zealand.
B. Join the Rodney/North Auckland Roll-out
We are starting in the North Auckland / Rodney area, and are looking for families seriously interested in participating in the roll-out in this region.
Depending on your interest, this may entail setting up a discussion to understand your needs for housing, social connection, funding options, and disability support. Every person's situation is different and we need to design things in line with your needs.
Why Start in Rodney?
-
Strong local interest from families
-
Supportive local community and organisations
-
Opportunity to pilot the full model in one location
-
Close enough to Auckland to attract partners and resources
But this is not just for Rodney.
Our aim is to roll this out on a national level. We want to hear from families across New Zealand, so we can plan for future sites and understand needs in different regions.

Your Input Shapes What Gets Built
Families have told us the system is fragmented, hard to navigate, and too administrative. Our research helps us design housing options, connection services, support coordination, and financial pathways that match real life needs.
We are conducting interviews with families to understand:
-
What quality of life looks like for your family
-
What housing and support needs you have
-
What financial pathways would work for you
-
What would give you real peace of mind
This is research. We want to learn from each other, design together, and build something that truly works.
How to Participate?
Complete the Pilot Research Expression of Interest form. We will follow up with an invitation to schedule a 60-minute research interview. All information is confidential and used only for Harikoa planning and research.
What Happens After the Research?
We will use what we learn to refine the housing designs, financial models, and support coordination approach. Families who participate in the research will be first to hear about launch timelines and housing availability.
