Community Fund
The Community Fund is designed to maximise quality of life outcomes by mobilising capital, reducing risk through a property portfolio approach, and providing stable, socially responsible returns.
It is intended to support both the disability community and aligned impact investors, so the model can scale. It is also based on the reality of the current housing situation in New Zealand.

Why We Need It
Families seeking housing security for a family member with disability face impossible choices:
-
Try to buy a property alone and carry all the risk of this being sustainable for the rest of their lives
-
Rely on rental markets that are unstable and expensive
-
Hope government policy does not change
The Fund offers a third option: work together, pool resources, own a portfolio of properties, and build long-term security that serves many families over decades.
How It Works
The model is build-to-rent. The Fund owns the property portfolio. Residents pay rent. The structure is designed for long-term stability, dignity, and progressive ownership pathways where possible.
The Fund is professionally managed and governed to protect member interests over decades. It blends capital from families, impact investors, and potentially community housing providers.
